Warm Socks to make the ride comfortable.

When the temperatures drop and either the biting cold seeps through to your toes or the wet, ice cold rain makes itself known, you want something on your feet that will keep both at bay. Well, I have been introduced to the marvel that is Merino Wool. My feet have never been kept at such a normal, constant temperature (down to about -2 °C, then two pairs are required).

Currently I only have two pairs and so I have to revert back to thick socks or thinner walking boot socks. Neither of which truly keep my feet 100% warm. The Merino socks I look and feel like summer socks and yet manage to maintain a natural heat temperature.

So not only are they smaller and lighter, they do the job better than a thick pair of socks.

A friend introduced me to Merino Socks and he advises that in the summer, they keep your feet cool too. So double bonus points for Merino Wool!

They aren’t that expensive either. Prices averaging around £12-£14 for two pairs.

I would just like to point out, I am wearing MXZ302 Cycling boots along with my Endura Merino Socks

For me, cold feet = Uncomfortable Cycling and in this day and age with all the technology, why is there a need to have cold feet. This is one option that I know of to prevent the latter and it works for me and my friend. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to add a comment and share with us all.

  1. I have a merino wool t-shirt, it’s the most comfortable thing to wear when I’m going for a hike 🙂
