A few of us are going to be participating in the NSPCC Organised Charity Bike Ride on 3rd June (Sunday) 2012. Start times are 08:00-10:00am which ever suits you. This is the 8th year of this particular charity bike ride by NSPCC.
The ride is from Salford Quays, Manchester to Otterspool Park, Otterspool, Liverpool and is approximately 40 miles. The majority of the route is apparently off road. The route has been planned around off road cycle routes and the canal.
There is an initial entry fee as outlined here:
- Children’s Entry (8-16 years) (£8.00)
- Entry Pack (£16.00)
- Student Entry (£11.00)
- Team Entry (6 or more, per person) (£15.00)
There is a coach to bring you and your bike back from Liverpool to Salford quays. This however is not free.
- Transport AM (£23.00)
- Transport PM (£23.00)
There will be support along the route from official refreshments stations, to mechanics and first aid. The route will also be sign posted all the way and you will be given a map with contact details, etc. so the chances of you going off route is minimised.
And here is the deal breaker….if you raise more than £25.00, you get a medal at the end of the ride!
So who is up for it?
